Unpatched nodes and software is when hardware and or software has a known flaw or security weakness. The software or server is unpatched because the it has not been updated to the newer release/version aka patch/fix. Running unpatched node or software is a risky activity because running an unpatched device exposes your environment to cyber criminals looking for opportunities to infiltrate your network.
